KELLI HUNT
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Kelli has over 20 years of experience as an Underwriter in the MGA space. Prior to her leadership role at CannGen Canada, she created and maintained nationwide programs for the following industries: Golf courses, wineries, breweries, construction, mining, forestry & non-standard property & casualty.
JENNIFER BATES
SVP OF OPERATIONS
Jennifer brings over 20 years of industry experience to the team. She uses her vast insurance knowledge to oversee the implementation of new products for CannGen Canada and is responsible for sales and product development. Her keen ability for organization combined with her technical knowledge ensures all aspects of operations run seamlessly.
RICHARD MCGEE
SVP OF SPECIALTY LINES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Richard's insurance career is two decades strong. Joining CannGen Canada in 2020, he coupled his financial lines experience with business development skills to become Director Of Financial Lines. He is directly responsible for managing our executive and professional liability offerings and maintaining broker and market partnerships.
SHERENE MATHER
VP OF PROPERTY
Sherene has over 15 years of insurance experience in Commercial Property underwriting. For the past seven years, she has been underwriting large complex cannabis accounts at a domestic carrier. Her other areas of expertise include program and portfolio management, auditing, and commercial underwriting in various industry sectors such as Energy, Oil & Gas, Forestry, and Waste Management.
COLLEEN MCANENEY
VICE PRESIDENT OF CASUALTY
Colleen is a Senior Underwriter at CannGen Canada and focuses on products liability and product recall. Before joining our team, she was a Liability Underwriter in the Life Science and Medical Malpractice space at CNA Canada. She has also held underwriting support positions at other well-known firms, including Zurich Canada and AXIS Capital.
JOEL BOUDREAU
SENIOR UNDERWRITER
Joel brings 20 years of experience in Commercial Property and Casualty underwriting, with a career spanning markets from the West Coast to the East Coast. This broad geographic experience provides a well-rounded underwriting perspective and enables him to effectively support national accounts across diverse industries. Known for his collaborative and approachable style, Joel combines technical expertise with strong working relationships to deliver consistent, thoughtful underwriting solutions.
TRACY GERVAIS
UNDERWRITER - RETAIL DIVISION
As a highly skilled underwriter, Tracy brings critical experience to our team. During her 15 year career, she has worked at managing general agencies, international brokerages, and insurance companies. At CannGen Canada, she is responsible for the underwriting of the retail cannabis sector.
ADELE URLACHER
UNDERWRITING MANAGER
With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Adele has held roles as both a Personal and Commercial Lines Broker and a Commercial Lines Underwriter. She joined the CannGen Canada team in 2022 and brings more than a decade of extensive underwriting knowledge focusing on Commercial Property and Casualty underwriting. In 2025, Adele transitioned from her role as Senior Underwriter to Underwriting Manager, where she now oversees the underwriting of new and renewal business while providing leadership and strategic direction to the underwriting team.
ERNEIZA GABRIEL
UNDERWRITER
Erneiza started her insurance career as an underwriting assistant in 2012. During the last ten years, she has succeeded in various roles, including administration, operations, and underwriting. Her well-rounded experience has played an integral part in her position at CannGen Canada as a commercial underwriter who focuses on renewals.
AMANDA PONA
Senior Underwriter
Amanda started her insurance career in 2011 and specializes in underwriting property, casualty, and cyber insurance, while marketing financial lines products. Experienced with domestic markets and Lloyd’s of London binding authorities, she brings a strategic perspective to product development and distribution, alongside her core underwriting expertise.
BEL DAGSI
UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT TEAM LEAD
Bel started her career in customer service. After ten years, she decided to change paths and found her passion in insurance. With experience in office services and tenacity to learn all aspects of the industry, she quickly progressed. She is responsible for training new staff, streamlining processes, and providing critical team support.
